I am a mature female graduated from Macquarie University, Australia. I majored in French because I am interested in languages and familiar with IPA, French and English pronunciations, and phonics. And I have also been in France for five years and been studying French Language in ‘Universites de Nancy France’. During my study in Australia, I had been working as Children Sunday School Teacher Assistant in a Christian Church for 4 years (Teaching children aged 2-8 in English). I do cherish and enjoy such a precious experience and was usually a favorite with children since I taught them in a funny and interesting way with love and patient. Furthermore, I have gained a great deal of practical knowledge, know-how and skills in all aspects of child teaching. After coming back to Hong Kong, I have worked as French tutor at YMCA, English Composition tutor, After-School tutor in two primary schools, and private tutor for primary students from Diocesan Boys’ School, Yau Ma Tei Cath Pri Sch, etc. I prepare and design all the course notes and materials, especially various activities such as songs, games, and role play which can help children to enjoy and become familiar with the sounds of the English, and develop their abilities to communicate in English. They will thus become confident in speaking, understanding and reading English. The children do enjoy a lot and have made great progress. With my teaching experience especially my passion and vision for teaching children to further their knowledge of new language and culture, I think I am eligible for the job and can perform my duties quite well.

Nice to meet you! I am Jamie, currently a Post-graduate student studying LLMArbDR after graduating from HKU LLB programme from which I was admitted via Early Admission Scheme (EAS). Having studied in the UK for 7 years, since the age of 11, I have a firm grasp of English as well as understanding of western culture. Cultural references, slangs, accents, or other knowledge that pertains to England or the US, I know of due to interacting almost exclusively with local British people and their media. This knowledge is something I personally hold dear and something I would love to share with others. I was fortunate enough to study in a prestigious boarding school, but the road for learning English was still a difficult one; from being in the bottom set for English, struggling to interact with the local British girls around me, to fighting my way to the top set and receiving English awards in my capacity as a normal student; from being identified as a foreign speaker who cannot speak well, to not being regarded as a foreign student but accepted as one of their own kind eventually, and so I do understand what it takes to improve one's English skills. I have extensive experience with tutoring; tutoring since the age of 17. Creative writing, essay writing, speaking, improving accents, public speaking, reading, understanding cultural references etc. are all my areas of expertise. I also have experience helping students prepare for their Cambridge exams such as PET and CAE, as well as IELTS and TOEFL.
