[Basic situation] I am currently a PhD student in Mathematics at The University of Hong Kong (HKU). I graduated from ShanghaiTech University with a B.S. in Mathematics, ranking 1st in my major, and spent one academic year as an exchange student at UC Berkeley. I can teach in both English and Mandarin. [Personal achievements] I won two Second Prizes in the National High School Mathematics League. At university, I was the team leader of an MCM Outstanding Winner team and received the AMS Award. [Teaching / tutoring experience] I have over two years of one-to-one tutoring experience, teaching students from secondary school to university level. I have also served as a teaching assistant for several university mathematics courses. In addition, I have worked with a leading mathematical modeling training program, coaching students for major competitions including the China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (CUMCM) and the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM), with students achieving strong competition results. [Personal advantage] I focus on helping students truly understand mathematical ideas rather than simply memorising formulas. I am good at identifying students’ weaknesses, explaining difficult concepts clearly, and building systematic problem-solving skills. I can support both exam preparation and mathematical enrichment. I am particularly suitable for DSE Mathematics/M1/M2, IGCSE, GCE A-Level Mathematics/Further Mathematics, IB Mathematics, SAT Mathematics, as well as Calculus and Linear Algebra.
