Hello! My name is Cristian, and I am a recent Master’s graduate in Computer Science from EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), one of Europe's leading science and technology universities, in Switzerland. I have a strong academic background in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Science. I graduated from a highly selective high school in Greece with a final grade of 19.8/20 and later completed both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at EPFL. Throughout my studies, I developed extensive knowledge of algebra, calculus, geometry, probability, statistics, and logical problem-solving. I also participated in Greece's National Informatics Competition, qualifying for a preparatory camp for the International Olympiad in Informatics. Beyond academics, I have professional experience in software engineering and research, including a year at Logitech in Switzerland. My work involved solving complex problems, collaborating with international teams, and presenting technical concepts clearly to different audiences. **What I can offer as a tutor:** I am particularly interested in teaching Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, and programming to primary and secondary school students. I can also provide English-language academic support, as I have C2-level English proficiency. My approach focuses on helping students genuinely understand concepts rather than simply memorizing formulas. I believe in breaking down difficult topics into manageable steps, adapting explanations to each student's learning pace, and encouraging independent thinking. I am patient, approachable, and enthusiastic about making challenging subjects easier and more enjoyable. I speak English fluently, alongside native Greek and Romanian, and conversational French. Having studied and worked in an international environment, I am comfortable communicating with students from different cultural backgrounds. I am currently based in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, and am looking for part-time tutoring opportunities, either in person or online. I have over 1,500 hours of teaching experience with students aged 3–18. I specialise in helping curious, ambitious learners explore advanced topics and progress beyond their current level, with particular expertise in Cambridge IGCSE ICT, Computer Science, Economics and Business Studies. My academic background is in Financial Technology at the University of Hong Kong. My experience in fintech, digital transformation and entrepreneurship helps me connect lessons to real applications in technology and business. Strong fundamentals are central to my teaching. I break challenging ideas into manageable steps and use practical activities to help students understand how concepts work. Lessons involve hands-on tasks, problem-solving and discussion, adapted to each student’s age, interests and understanding. For students who want to learn ahead, I build on what they already know while checking for gaps before introducing more advanced material. My goal is to keep students challenged and engaged while developing the confidence and independent thinking they need to explore further.
